Après Ski in the City: How We Brought Rustic Mountain Vibes to Interac's Holiday Party

The holiday season is the perfect time to trade the office for something a little more cozy and a lot more festive.
That was exactly the goal when we partnered with Proof Experiences for Interac's holiday celebration at Steam Whistle Kitchen in Toronto. Their vision was a rustic, vintage-inspired ski lodge complete with snowy scenery, warm wood tones, cozy textures and all the charm of an après ski getaway.
Our role was to create a branded photo booth experience that felt like a natural extension of that world.
The Mission: A Vintage Lodge Retreat
For Interac's holiday party, the mission was to transport guests from the urban energy of Toronto to the quiet charm of a vintage ski lodge. Working alongside the talented team at Proof Experiences, we designed a photo activation that complemented the overall event aesthetic. We focused on "mountain magic" by using our snowy mountainscape backdrop to set a wintery, high-altitude scene right inside the venue.
The Design: Interac's Holiday Party Photo Booth
For the technology, we deployed our Interactive Mirror Booth. Much like our other immersive activations, this experience didn't just capture snapshots; it invited guests to step into a winter wonderland.
To ensure the branding was as seamless as the scenery, we fully customized the experience:
Custom Photo Overlays: We designed a unique overlay that blended Interac’s branding with the rustic "Après Ski" theme.
Branded Start Screen: From the moment guests approached the mirror, they were greeted by a custom start screen tailored to the event’s aesthetic.
The Details: Authentic Alpine Props
What truly sets an activation apart is the attention to detail. To ensure guests felt like they had just stepped off the slopes and into the chalet, we moved away from standard props and curated a selection of authentic gear:
Actual ski goggles and poles for that "pro-skier" pose.
Fuzzy hats, beanies, and mitts to lean into the cozy lodge vibes.
These tactile elements turned the photo booth into a connection point where colleagues could laugh, bond, and create high-energy memories together
Why Immersive Photo Experiences Work
A great holiday event is defined by the shared moments guests take home with them. By combining immersive styling, authentic props, custom branding and interactive technology, the photo booth quickly became a gathering place throughout the evening. Colleagues laughed together, struck their best ski poses and left with personalized keepsakes that captured both the spirit of the event and the Interac brand.
